ABOUT US

The SouthWest Drag Racers Association was formed in the year 2000. It was noticed that an increasing number of racers were coming from the South West region.

With racing coming to an end at Ravenswood Raceway (WA), and a new era of racing about to begin at the Perth Motorplex in Kwinana (WA). A handful of drag racers formed the SouthWest Drag Racers Association.

The main focus of the club, is to promote the sport of drag racing to general public, we do this by presenting vehicles for display at various events around the SouthWest. It’s always a great opportunity for people who have never been to a drag race, to get up close and personal with drag racing and learn a bit of what drag racing is all about.

As a club we can offer our members the chance to voice an opinion and express concerns they may have with any aspect of racing, from track and event management, to racing rules and regulations.

We also offer members a network of fellow racers and friends who can offer support, assistance and advice at the race track, or in the shed. Racers who are new to the sport find they have instant access to a wealth of knowledge and experience, as well as a group of friends in the pits to help them come race day.

Members vehicles range from Super Street cars, modified altereds and dragsters, purpose built and street ridden motorcycles right up to Supercharged Outlaw sedans and alcohol burning supercharged dragsters.

You don’t have to be a racer to be a part of the SouthWest Drag Racers Association, memebership is open to all racers, crew members and interested people, and a full membership is only $24 year.

Meetings are always a casual affair, they are held on the second Wednesday of each month at the Walkabout Café in Bunbury. Meetings usually start around 7.30, but you are always welcome to get there early and have dinner before the meeting. The meeting usually only takes about an hour, and then there is the chance to chat with other members.

We hold a social get together for Christmas each year, and a dinner at the end of the season where we reward our most successful racers.

We welcome new members to our meeting, and I welcome any questions you may have, just drop us an e-mail if you want know more about the SouthWest Drag Racers Association.
